FLASH ON WEEK!

Eley Kishimoto last week launched their 'Flash On Week' in association with London Fashion Week. The exhibition which was held in photographic studio on Batemans Row in Shoretditch, and played homage to the companies renown print 'FLASH'.

The event showcased their signature print across a range of collaboratives products such as Noble Macmillian notebooks, a BMW Motorrad and Orlebar Brown designs. I thought the exhibition was strong, bold, as it showcased how E.K are able to adapt, apply and manipulate their print to literally anything.
The Flash print play a key part in the companies identity, and over time it has become a brand within it's self.  That's maybe why this year they decided not to show a collection at LFW, but decided that there must successful print to date should be put on show...

EDGES OF THE WORLD....

Ernesto Neto, Edges Of The World exhibited at the Hayward Gallery at the start of September. It's based around sensory installation's, made from net like nylon fabric, which he has manipulated forming large dome like shapes. Neto appears to be playing with the idea of being in a confined shape, and forming layers of net to create an ultimate viewing platform.

BLOW BY BLOW

Recently just finished reading the new biography of Isabelle Blow,'Blow By Blow' written by Detmar Blow with the help of Tom Sykes. She represents a fashion icon, style queen, and one of most intelligent and creative women to have influenced the fashion scene to this day.
This personal account tells the story of what she longed for and how she coped with much bereavement in her life, which many of her friends within the fashion industry weren't aware of! This is a remarkable insight into the real life of Isabelle Blow. The truth is exposed, no longer hidden behind Philip Tracey Hats, from her Bill Blass suits to her McQueen items and Manolo Blahnik heels!
